Release for Madam X April 25, 2014
It was 1984 when Detroit rockers
Madam X released its debut album, We Reserve the Right,
on the Jet/CBS Recording label. The album was produced by Rick
Derringer, and spawned the cult classic single, High in
High School. A video for that song quickly became an MTV
favorite and the song later resonated with the now infamous
April 20th observance for stoners worldwide.
Formed by classically trained sisters
Maxine (guitar) and Roxy (drums) Petrucci, the band is best
known for its original lineup which includes lead screamer Bret
Kaiser and bassist Chris Doliber. After a series of Madam X
member changes, the band would later feature future Skid Row
front man Sebastian Bach. Roxy would later play for the all-female
glam rock band Vixen.
Fast forward to 2014 and the band,
with its original lineup, is back and in fine form. Word of
a soon-to-be-released Madam X single, Another 80s
Rock Song, (The Party Never Ends), quickly caught the
attention of folks around the world, including producers of
the Sweden Rock Festival, who invited Madam X to perform as
part of the 2014 installment of the fest, set for June 4-7,
where it will play among a lineup that includes Black Sabbath,
Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie, Billy Idol, Ted Nugent, Megadeth and
others.
The new single was recorded at Metro
37 Studios and co-produced by Kevin Sharp and Greg Stryker.
In 1984, Billboard Magazine proclaimed,
Madam X songs are catchier than herpes at a groupie convention.
The praise continues today with Sweden Rock Fest producers saying,
Madam X has reached semi-mythological status," while
Tony Srock, president of Full Effect Records says, This
song is everything I loved and miss about the 80s. Very
fresh in todays scene and Gerard Talbot (Virgin
Records, EG, Real World Venture, Earth Works) says, Madam
X has written a barnstorming anthem! A crushing sing along chorus,
reminiscent of the best the 80s.
Before heading off to Sweden, Madam
X will perform a Detroit-area gig, set for Sunday, May 4th at
the Diesel Concert Lounge in Chesterfield Twp. A VIP meet and
greet is also planned. Doors at 7:00pm. Admission is $10. VIP
$25. Copies of the new single will be available.

The ladies in Vixen were back in
Florida playing for the first time since 1990 when they played
a well known club in Daytona called Finky's. This show was the
first one they have played under the Vixen name with the new
line up. The weather was gorgeous and the ladies spent their
day shopping around the bike week vendors. Janet Gardner bought
herself a nice Harley Davidson top which she wore onstage for
the show. In between fans would encounter the ladies and get
a group photo with them. It was also Janet Gardner's and Roxy
Petrucci's birthday weekend. Happy Birthday ladies!
ROXY
PETRUCCI is quite the busy little #?# bad-azz
bee as of lately. Not just her reunion with the
all-time best, all-female, hard rock act, VIXEN
(it's really not a question of gender though), but
also the shocking news of the return of her original
crazy gang - MADAM X. That's right moms and dads.
Hide your gold and bury your children (or vice versa
if you prefer?) as the original Madam X line-up
feat. Bret Kaiser (vocals), Maxine
Petrucci (guitars), Chris
"Godzilla" Doliber (bass) and Roxy
Petrucci (drums) are about to release some
brand new music. Personal reasons within the group
caused trouble in the past and ehem... I can already
feel the tension, no? We had a quite a chat about
drums, drummers, and MADAM X - Here's ROXY...

MEMBERS OF VIXEN'S DEFINITIVE LINEUP TO PERFORM IN 2014

The
VIXEN Legacy Lives On in 2014 To Honor Its Founder and Guitarist
Jan Kuehnemund
MIAMI, FL (Dec 3, 2013) - Singer Janet Gardner, drummer Roxy Petrucci and bassist Share Ross (Pedersen) announce they are honoring their friend and band mate, guitarist
and founder of Vixen, Jan Kuehnemund by performing as Vixen in 2014.
The band was committed to reunite
in 2012 but Kuehnemund's cancer diagnosis caused what was thought
of at the time as a delay. Sadly however after a fierce battle
Kuehnemund succumbed to her illness in October 2013, thus the
reunion was not meant to be.
After discussing the idea with friends
and family as well as lead vocalist from most recent lineup,
Jenna Sanz-Agero, it was agreed that it was the right decision
for the three surviving definitive members to carry on as Vixen.
Singer Janet Gardner commented,
"We've been hearing the fans ask for this and while it
will never be the same without Jan, we believe in our hearts
it's what she would have wanted." Hits like "Edge
of a Broken Heart", "Cryin'", "How Much
Love" and "Love
Is A Killer" helped establish the group as one of
premiere rock acts of their genre and the only all-female platinum
selling 80s rock act ever.
Joining forces with their JSRG bandmate,
guitarist Gina Stile,
Vixen will be performing at select festivals and showcase dates
in 2014.
We are honored and proud to announce
that the first official Vixen performances will take place on
the Monsters of Rock Cruise departing from Miami, FL on
March 29th.
